The West Kootenays can rightfully claim ownership of their hockey Saints.
The Castlegar-based squad was playing for a BC Intercollegiate Hockey League championship on Saturday night in Nelson due to scheduling issues with the KIJHL Castlegar Rebels who were also in action.
It was definitely a home crowd supporting the Saints at the Nelson District Community Complex, however, as the Selkirk crew took the last step to an unforgettable achievement.
Hats off to the BCIHL champs... the Selkirk College Saints!
