Soft shoulder plays role in semi crash

No one was injured in May 11 single-vehicle MVA 10 kms west of Castlegar.

The driver and lone occupant of a westbound semi, loaded with a 60,000 lb. cargo of beer was uninjured following a late morning MVA on Highway 3.

Castlegar RCMP Baron, at the scene, said the problems occurred when the truck edged onto a soft shoulder, and the trailer toppled, taking the truck with it, at approximately 10 a.m.

The truck came to a stop, completely off the roadway, causing only minimal traffic delays.
