Arson is suspected after a mobile home in Genelle was gutted by fire early Thursday.
By the time firefighters arrived shortly after 2:30 a.m., Nov. 30, the structure was engulfed in flames.
Two occupants in the home escaped without injury.
A crew of nine from Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue attended the 16th Avenue blaze, noting the fire as under control at 3:50 a.m.
“The structure was a total loss,” reports Captain Grant Tyson, Station 374 Trail, adding the fire appears to be deliberately set.
“Regional fire rescue along with the RCMP will be investigating.”
