Fire department and police attended an incident in the 300 block of 7th Avenue in Castlegar on March 28.
"We were dispatched to a detached garage that was reported as involved," said Castlegar fire chief Gerry Rempel at the scene.
"We breached the garage and, at this point, it looks like it's pretty much out. We're just checking."
What appeared to be a strong police presence on and around the scene was explained by Rempel,
"I did have them called on the way down, for a lot of reasons," he said. "In light of what we've had here in the last week (two cases of arson on Monday night) I don't want to take any chances in that regard."
