Non-life threatening injuries were reportedly suffered by a 34-year-old female cyclist after colliding with a van on Wednesday morning, July 3.

A report filed by Castlegar RCMP Const. Debbie Postnikoff informed that detachment members along with other emergency personnel were dispatched to deal with the incident that occurred in the 1700 block of Columbia Avenue shortly after 8 a.m.

The bike and the van, both northbound, collided, likely when the van turned right into a driveway.

"The cyclist was observed to have traveled into the air, over the hood of the van, landing on some rocks near the sidewalk," stated Const. Postnikoff's report.

Investigation of the incident continues and charges under the Motor Vehicle Act are pending against a 66-year-old Trail woman.
