Castlegar Fire Chief Gerry Rempel reported that everyone was okay in the aftermath of a single vehicle incident on January 31. It was about 7:30 p.m. when an SUV collided with what was likely an elk on Highway 22 between 37th St. and Minto Road in South Castlegar. Traffic was interrupted for more than an hour following the incident. There was no sign of the animal on the scene.
