In Loving Memory ~

On September 29th, at 9:10 a.m., Albert Leo Bergeron passed away very peacefully with his family by his side. Al bravely fought cancer for nearly two years until the recent realization that the cancer had spread. Al chose to do MAID (medical assistance in death).

The family is thankful to Dr. Larocque and the caring professionals and nurses who cared and supported Al in his fight.

Al was born on May 5th, 1948, in St. Paul, Alberta, to Antoinette and Roland Bergeron. The family left St. Paul when Al was 4 and moved to Trail, BC, then eventually Montrose, where he spent his childhood years.

While living in Montrose, Al met Betty Alex, and eventually married in 1968. Lana was first born at Trail Hospital in late 1968. Shortly after Lana was born, they moved to Smithers, BC, where Leslie was born in 1971. When Leslie was 1 year old, they moved to Castlegar.

In the early years, Al worked in construction. In 1976, he got hired at the pulp mill, where he worked for 36 years.

Al was predeceased by his wife Betty Bergeron, his mother Toni, his father Roland, and many beloved animals of his own.

Al is survived by his daughter Lana (Jon) Nesmith and their children Rebecca and Lauryn. And his daughter, Leslie (Scott) Gray, and their children, Cullen and Nathan. His sister, Julie (George) Orlesky, and nephews Doug, Darrel (Mel), and niece Elaine (Al). Al's girlfriend, Donna Caine, supported him until the end.
