Betty Zarikoff

July 1, 1942 - August 3, 2022
It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Betty Zarikoff, on August 3, 2022, in Castlegar, BC.
Betty was born to parents Fred and Helen Fominoff on July 1, 1942, in New Denver, BC and was a true 'Spiritual Sage'. A woman who valued family, community and the attainment of wisdom on many levels. Growing up as a Doukhobor, she loved and respected nature and along with her husband Bill, was an active member of the DCA for many years. Betty then explored the teachings of Eckankar. Gently, lovingly and gracefully, she passed the wisdom of nourishing food, deep connections with family and friends and outdoor living on to her children. Betty is survived by her sister Marilyn, brother Fred, four children Peter, Michale, Dina and Bradley, and nine grandchildren as well as numerous extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Helen Fominoff, first husband Peter Maloff, second husband Bill Zarikoff and brother Lawrence Fominoff.
A Memorial Service will be held on August 19, 2022, 10AM at the Brilliant Cultural Centre, followed by interment at the Brilliant Cemetery and a Doukhobor meal once Betty has been put to rest. Everyone is welcome.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Betty's name to the Castlegar Community Harvest Food bank.
