We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our father William (Bill) Friedrich of Castlegar. Bill passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023 at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, with his daughters Rachel & Tammy by his side.
Bill was predeceased by his wife Marilyn, daughter Shelley, parents Paul and Matilda, brother Albert and sister June. He is survived by his children, Jay (Dana) Friedrich, Tammy (Larry) Peitzsche, Stacey Friedrich, and Rachel Friedrich. His grandchildren Ryan, Narelle, Sebastian, Cooper and Korbyn, and great-grandchildren, Liam, Rya, Callie, Linley, and Rhodes.
Bill was born in Rossland to Paul and Matilda Friedrich in 1936. He grew up in Nelson and resided with his family in Castlegar. He took great pride in and was extremely passionate about his work at the Castlegar Sawmill as a Saw Filer, Head Filer, Sawmill Superintendent/Supervisor, and Project Manager. Bill was a phenomenal musician and an incredible father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be forever loved and remembered in our hearts. Our family is grateful to know that Bill is finally at peace.
Services were held on Thursday, August 24th, 2023, at the Castlegar Funeral Chapel with a procession to the Kinnaird Park Memorial Cemetery. Our family appreciates your love and support during this difficult time.
