Bill was born Aug 17, 1931 to parents John & Tina Tamelin of Pass Creek, BC. He was the 2nd oldest child in a family of 4 siblings. Bill lived all his life in Pass Creek. He passed away peacefully, Oct 20th, 2009.
Bill met and married Polly Horkoff of Grand Forks, in 1952. They were blessed with 4 children: A son, Cyril;
daughter, Kathy; son Mickey; and son, Kelly. Bill worked at local sawmills, at first as a production worker and later as a welder. His last job (and one of his favourites) was when he worked as a caretaker at the Brilliant Cultural
Centre. This is the job he retired from.
Bill & Polly were lifetime members of the USCC. They were also active & dependable members of the Pass Creek Doukhobor Community. Bill was
predeceased by his parents John & Tina
Tamelin, by is infant son Mickey, oldest son Cyril & daughter Kathy. Left to mourn his passing are: wife, Polly of 57
years, son Kelly, three siblings: Oldest brother John (Vera) Tamelin; sister Elizabeth (Bill) Kalesnikoff; younger brother Harry (Denise) Tamelin. Also surviving him are his grandchildren Christina (Casey) Grant, Josh and
Connor; great-grandchildren Heather, Makayla and Mia; Brother-in-law Sam Horkoff; Sister in law Diane (Jim) Brydon, as well as many cousins,
nephews and nieces. May he rest in peace & we pray that his soul be accepted into God’s Heavenly Kingdom. The family would like to thank all the people that
came to the funeral. Psalmists for their wonderful singing. Leonard Voykin for so ably officiating the services, the Pass Creek ladies who came to help so willingly, for the wonderful meal that they prepared; also the servers who did very well, the grave diggers who prepared Bill’s final resting place. To the people who brought food, flowers, sent cards. A special thank you to JJ
Verigin for his comforting words. To doctors and nurses in Trail & Castlegar Hospital and Talarico Place. All the home care nurses and home support services for their care.
