January 20, 1929 - February 24, 2019
With heavy hearts, the family of Bill (William) Gretchin, wish to announce his passing at KBRH on February 24, 2019 after 90 years of a life well lived. Bill was born on January 20, 1929 and lived in the Kootenays all his life.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Olga, daughters Barbara and Mary, son Norman, grandchildren Scott (Stacey), Lori (Hugh), Thorston( Hannah), Thomas (Olivia), great granddaughter Anastasia and sister Polly. He was predeceased by his parents William and Elizabeth, sister Katy, brother Cecil and son-in-law Wayne.
Bill loved new challenges, adventure, especially cruising, and ocean fishing. But his greatest love was for his family who stayed by his side during his last days.
We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at KBRH, the emergency room at the Castlegar Health Centre as well as the staff at the laboratory for their care and kindness.
Cremation has taken place and a private gathering will take place at a later date.
