December 14, 1928 - April 1, 2025

In loving memory ~

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Carol Isabelle Price. Carol was born in the family home in Riondel on December 14th, 1928. Mom shared many of her early memories of fishing and hunting throughout the West Kootenay and riding the paddle-wheeler SS Moyie on the beautiful waters of Kootenay Lake. Carol loved her animals and had many dogs, cats, horses and even a pet pig in her early years growing up in Riondel. Mom was always a lover of the great outdoors and sports, while at high school she won the West Kootenay 100-yard dash championship.

After training at Saint Paul's hospital in Vancouver, Carol began her nursing career in Cranbrook where she met and married Ken Price and then moved to Castlegar where Carol began a long and respected career as a nurse at the Castlegar hospital. Carol and Ken had 3 children together. Having the kids involved in outdoor activities and sports was always a top priority. Hockey, ball and skiing were some of the many sports the family was involved in, and Carol rarely missed a game or activity that the kids or grandchildren participated in and was their biggest fan. Many fishing and camping trips were enjoyed by the entire family.

Carol was predeceased by her husband Ken, daughter Jean Hergott and survived by sons Larry (Lorraine), Murray (Joanne) son-in-law Doug, grandchildren Ashley, Shannon, Steve, Derek, Stephanie and seven great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Castleview Care Centre for taking such good care of our mother.

Carol was a great mother, grandmother and friend to many, she will be deeply missed.

The family will be having a private service.
