In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Louise Thomson (nee Williamson), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Carol passed away peacefully on February 21, 2023 at age 85 with her loving family by her side.
Carol was born in Burnaby, B.C. on September 2, 1937. Carol was the second of five children to James and Sarah Williamson.
On April 20, 1957, Carol married the love of her life Bill Thomson and together they shared a beautiful life full of love and adventure. Their love for each other only grew stronger in their later years.
As a stay-at-home mom, Carol was the heart of her family. She loved nothing more than spending time with her children and later her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She had numerous pets throughout her life and they brought her so much joy. Carol was a gifted artist and found great joy in painting and sketching. She also had a passion for gardening, travel, and music.
In her later years, Carol was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Despite her challenges, Carol never lost her gentle nature or love for her family, pets and music. She will be remembered for her kind heart, infectious smile, and spunky personality.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Bill Thomson, and her children Carrie (Murray), Clayton, Rick (Christine) and Shona (Dale). Additionally, eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-granddaughters and a lifelong friend Vi. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family will be forever grateful for the care and unconditional love her granddaughter Lisa and the staff at Talarico gave her. Talarico staff were like an extended family to her.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held at a later date. Kole Roth of Clark's Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Society of British Columbia in Carol's memory.
