December 28, 1934 - April 20, 2020
Clarence Theodore Higgins, born December 28, 1934, passed away on April 20, 2020, with family by his side. Clarence was born in Williams Lake, and grew up on a homestead near Bridge Lake, BC, with his father and 11 siblings. He enjoyed, spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, and playing crib with anyone who was willing to "loose a dollar".
He was a retired heavy duty mechanic, a husband, a father, and a dearly loved grandfather. Clarence was predeceased by his lovely wife, Elaine Higgins. He will be thought of often by his family; daughter Julie Higgins (Bill), son Norm Higgins (Gwen) and their daughters, Amelia and Julie, and son Stewart Higgins (Alisha) and their children, Jake and Carly.
Clarence was truly one of a kind. He was never the type to stand by and watch, he would always be willing to offer a helping hand. He was a huge part of the lives of his grandchildren, and his love for them was obvious. He enjoyed teaching them things like gardening, fishing, and being in nature. He was known for his stories of growing up on a homestead, his joyful memories of summers in Canim Lake with family, his one liners and his little sayings.
"Wing Wing Wing", "Tricky Tricky" and "Cheerio" will be said amongst the family for years to come. We will surround ourselves with photos and memories and talk of him often. We will teach the kids to play crib, and our gardens will be a time to connect with him.
Grampa Clarence, we are going to miss you being around and giving us so much love. Thank you for everything you brought into our lives. Rest peacefully and know that you are loved and will be missed.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Castlegar Funeral Chapel.
