Connie Schmidt of Castlegar passed away
unexpectedly on Sun. Nov. 1, 2009 at
the Kootenay Boundary Hospital
in Trail.
Connie was born in Manchester, England
on June 16, 1938. Connie’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends. She was thrilled to become a great-grandma to Serenity in 2008.
Connie is survived by her two daughters, Dawn (Garry) Howe of Castlegar and Viv (Calvin) Sawchuk of Kelowna and her foster daughter, Leslie Pernosky of California. She was pre-deceased by her loving daughter, Laura in 2006. She leaves behind seven grandchildren
Ryen and Nicole Howe, Brandon Howe, Shane and Cheyanne Knight, Jennifer and Breanne Pernosky, and a great-granddaughter Serenity Knight.
A special thanks goes out to the Drs. Trenholme & Schumaker and the nursing staff at Kootenay Boundary Hospital in Trail for their wonderful care during her brief illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. A celebration of life will be held at: the Castlegar Royal Canadian Legion Branch 170
on Sunday, November 8, 2009
from 1:00-4:00pm.
Cremation was graciously tended to by the Castlegar Funeral Chapel.
Her memory will live on in our hearts forever. We will miss you and love you always.
