November 12, 1923 - July 6, 2019
Cora St. Arnaud, aged 95, died peacefully Saturday, July 6, 2019, Edie, her youngest daughter at her side.
Cora lived a long and active life. She was predeceased by Edmond, her husband of 38 years, by grandsons, Kevin and Daniel and son in law, Brian. She is survived by her six children, Denise (Ron), Dolores (Brian), Guy (Christine), Raymond, Carole (Ben) and Edith (Stacey), 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mom was deeply attached to her family and the Church and was a stable influence in our sometime turbulent lives.
She loved to read, to visit with friends, and her garden was especially important to her. Having grown up on a farm in Chauvin Alberta, she joined up in 1944, a driver in the Army. Following her discharge, she met and married Edmond and they lived 14 years in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, then moved to Prince Rupert. On retirement she moved to Logan Lake where she lived for 22 years. She moved to Castlegar in 2011 where she was close to Edie and Stacey and could garden to her heart's content.
Cora was well known in her communities as the Tupperware Lady and won people over with her friendly manner and big smile. She will be missed.
Our thanks to her doctors and the staff at Castleview whose care and kindness made her last days comfortable.
Rosary Prayers will be held at St. Rita's Catholic Church on Monday July 15th at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Rita's Catholic Church on Tuesday July 16th at 10:30 am.
