Deborah Soroka, age 55, passed away peacefully after a short, courageous battle with Cancer on May 23rd, 2021 at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, B.C. She had a kind heart, gentle soul and a perky and unique sense of humour, which she maintained right to the very end.
The much-loved daughter of Laurie and Walter, will be missed by her many friends as well as relatives, and especially Colleen and Alex.
A staunch Blue-Jays fan, Deb was born in Toronto and moved to the lower mainland in the early 1990's and then to Castlegar in 2005. While in Castlegar, making friends wherever she went, Deb worked 13 years at Canadian Tire, more recently at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 170. She also volunteered at the Castlegar Food Bank.
Laurie offers a heartfelt thank you to the many caregivers at the Castlegar and Kootenay Boundary hospitals and a special thanks to Doctor Megan Taylor.
No flowers or donations, please. We ask you to commemorate her life with a special good deed. Our Deb would appreciate that.
