With broken hearts we announce the passing of Dosie Crawford at the age of 93, on November 11 at Castleview Care Centre, with her daughter Terri and granddaughter Allison at her side.
Dosie was born in 1929 in Butte, Montana, USA.
She met her husband Jim at college. When Jim accepted a teaching position at SHSS in Castlegar, they moved to Canada with two children, a cat and a dog in 1959.
She enjoyed a long and happy life - she was a long time volunteer at the Castlegar library, she swam with the Seniors swim team, she learned to play the violin in her middle years and went back to the piano in her later years.
She gardened, she walked, she was a bird watcher, a sewer and a reader. But more than anything - she was a painter.
She painted her entire life and she has left a lot of beautiful art on many walls.
Dosie and Jim cycled together, went on several cycling trips and enjoyed travelling in their truck and camper.
She was predeceased by Jim in 2014.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Terri, son-in-law Iain and son Michael. Grandchildren Allison, Geoffrey and Julia and 2 great grandchildren.
