It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Makayev on February 27, 2025.
Doris was born on December 26, 1944, to Mike and Annie Makayev. She was predeceased by her parents, siblings Paul, Marie, Mike, and Laura, her beloved children Marnie and John Paul, as well as nephews Tom Chursinoff and Daniel Koftinoff, and brother-in-law Paul Koftinoff.
She is survived by her sister Ann (Fred) Chursinoff, nephews Nick Chursinoff and family, Rob Chursinoff and family, Mike, Mal, Dennis, Greg, and their families, as well as nieces Virginia Koftinoff and family and Laura Janse and family. Doris will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her, and her memory will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public service. A private family gathering was held at Castlegar Funeral Chapel on March 4, 2025, followed by burial at the Brilliant Cemetery.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Bill Strilaeff and the staff at Castlegar Funeral Chapel for their care and support during this time.
May Doris rest in peace in God's heavenly kingdom.
