January 22, 1938 – February 2, 2013

It is with heavy hearts that we have to say farewell to Douglas Gregg Haugen who passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was predeceased by his mother, Lilly Haugen (Wilson) in 2010. Doug’s love remains with his children, Charlene, Kim (Nick), Doug (Mercedes), his beloved Angelita and half siblings Doug, Jo-Ann and Dana Norris. He will be lovingly missed by his grandchildren Derek, Chris, Aliza, Elise and Michelle. He will be remembered by his former wife, Rozelie. Doug lived a full and rich life despite having suffered a spinal cord injury 43 years ago. Doug loved classic cars, participating in riflery in the BC Special Olympics and was known to have an insatiable appetite for watching the Barrett-Jackson Automobile Auction on TV. Doug will be remembered for his passions in life – family, boating, car shows and the lottery.

A Memorial Gathering celebrating Doug’s life was held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at Delta Funeral Home, 5329 Ladner Trunk Road, Delta, BC, with a reception that followed. Doug’s burial took place at Boundary Bay Cemetery at 2:00 pm, 856 56 Street, Tsawwassen, BC.

In lieu of flowers, if so desired, the family would appreciate donations be made in Doug’s memory to

autonamiclaboratory@ICORD.org or

krassioukov@ICORD.org, a world leading health research center focused on spinal cord injury.
