January 14, 1945 - April 22, 2025

Edward William (Ted) Evans, a devoted husband, caring father, loving grandfather, and cherished brother, passed away gently on April 22, 2025, at the age of 80.

Ted was the beloved husband of Denise Evans (Hébert), with whom he shared 49 memorable and active years. Together, they built a loving home, truly devoted to raising and nurturing their three daughters. Ted was the dedicated and proud father to - Celine (Tony) Buckingham, Nadine (Owen) Coombes, and Mireille Evans (Katie Hill-Meacham). He was also a playful and engaged grandfather to Milène (16), Kiana (13), Nila (12), Zara (11), and Anaïs (9), who all brought immense joy to his life.

Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Ted is survived by his brother Bill (Uncle B) and predeceased by siblings Ken and Gail.

Ted pursued his passion for science and the natural world by completing his degree in Biology at the University of Saskatchewan then traveling and working in the outdoors for ten years. He then returned to study Forestry at the University of Alberta. That is where he met Denise, the love of his life. Alongside Denise, he learned French so the family home could thrive "en français".

He found solace in nature and shared his enthusiasm for natural wonders with those around him. He enjoyed his coffee with a good book and was a dedicated reader and quiet intellectual, always seeking knowledge and moments of patient reflection.

Ted will be remembered for his attentive listening, open-mind, tolerance, quiet determination, uncanny patience and meaningful conversations. His legacy of kindness and patience lives on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Incredible care and support were given to Ted. Warm and special thanks to Melissa Maley, Will Byker, Lori Verigin, Alli Powers, Dr. Daryl Wile, Dr. Mike Van Vliet, Teresa Chang, Dr. Sweeney, Dr. Scheepers, Tara Commandeur , Tim Johnson, and Judy Birwash

He was not one to rush anything, thus, to celebrate Ted's gentle and remarkable life, an afternoon of food, music and memories will be held on Saturday, September 6th at 2pm at the covered picnic area at Pass Creek Park.
