Elsie Mucha, age 86, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2020, after a short illness. Elsie was born in Brandon, Manitoba on April 19, 1934.
While still a small child, the family moved and settled in Cultus Lake, BC. Elsie was the eldest of 9 children born to Ole and Ruth Bai.
Elsie enjoyed bowling, playing cards and socializing with the Castlegar Seniors, Branch 46. She volunteered at the Castlegar Hospital Auxiliary Treasure Shop. She loved doing puzzles, reading, music and crocheting. The most important thing in Elsie's life was her family which she loved unconditionally and the many friends she made in Castlegar over the years.
Elsie was predeceased by her husband Louis Mucha, her parents Ruth and Ole Bai, her sisters; Louise, Janet, Marilyn, and Opal, her brothers Lloyd and Ron. She was also predeceased by her granddaughter, Briony Fast. Elsie is survived by her daughter Sherry (Dave) and daughter Lynn, her sons; Bob, Brad and Duane (Theresa). She is also survived by her grandchildren; Scott, Lisa, Trisha, Lucas, Caitlin and Emily, along with 8 great-grandchildren.
Mom was blessed with two very special people in her life that she thought of as family. Brian and Amber, thank you for all the help and love you gave to Mom. There are not enough words to say how grateful I am that you both were a very important part of her life.
Roy and Maureen, thank you for the support and care you extended to my Mom and also to me when things were so hard. Thank you just doesn't seem enough.
Mom loved her family with her whole heart and will be greatly missed by all of us. We are all thankful that she is no longer suffering and can finally rest in peace.
There will be no funeral as per Elsie's request. A Celebration of Life will be held later when it is safe to do so. Andreas Schmitz of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation ServicesTM has been entrusted with arrangements.
