Florence Kinakin passed away peacefully on Sunday June 7 at the Trail Hospital at the age of 82. Florence was born on April 15, 1927 to Mike and Nellie Plotnikoff and lived all her life in Castlegar. On December 21, 1947 Florence married Pete Kinakin. They built their house in Castlegar in which lived for 61 years until the time of her death.
Florence was admitted into the hospital on Dec 12, 2008 and returned home on Jan 11, 2009. At that time she was unable to walk, confined to a wheelchair, her husband became her primary caregiver. She was re-admitted to the hospital on May 30, 2009 where she passed away on June 7, 2009.
She is survived by her husband Pete, son Wayne and wife Barb, son Lorne, daughter Evelyn and husband Dan Debiasio, grandchildren Scott Kinakin and Stacey Shire, Lori Kinakin, Courtney Debiasio and Jocelyn Debiasio. She is also survived by her brother Mike Plotnikoff, sister Polly and her husband Andy Davidoff and several nieces , nephews and cousins. She ws pre deceased by her parents and oldest sister.
