It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Raymond Doucette.
Gary was born in Castlegar, BC on Dec. 27, 1966. He eventually relocated to Grand Forks, BC, and spent most of his adult life there which is where he met Karen Voiken. Gary and Karen were soon blessed with a beautiful daughter in 2000, and were married shortly afterward.
Gary spent most of his working career in construction, as a caterer and most recently as a cook at Boundary Lodge, until he developed health issues.
He loved to cook and put together many family meals over the years. He enjoyed growing a garden and was proud of his successes. He also enjoyed playing the drums, was in a band in younger years and looked forward to "jamming" whenever possible.
Gary was predeceased by his mother, Irene, in 2001. He is survived by his wife Karen, daughter Denelle, father Marcel, step-mother Eileen, sisters Marcella (Ken) Chernoff, Corinna (Paul) Dalton, brother Kirk Doucette and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
He was a kind, caring, supportive soul with an infectious laugh. Gone too soon, and he will be sorely missed.
