George Pereverzoff

November 7, 2009

It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, & friend, George Pereverzoff of Pass Creek, BC. George was born on January 3, 1948 in Nelson, BC to Alex & Mable Pereverzoff. He was their third son. George grew up in Pass Creek with his two older brothers,

Paul & Alex and younger sister Violet,

George attended Pass Creek Elementary School & graduated from Stanley Humphries High School in 1967.

In the mid-60’s, George & a few of his friends formed a band called “images of Night” where he played the keyboard. He later belonged to bands such as “By the Way” and “Brilliant Jam Factory.”

George worked at various jobs which included self-employment, Cominco, and the latter being Zelltsoff Celgar.

In 1974, George travelled to the Philippines, where he met the love of his life, Dominga Oblogg. On November 30, 1985 George and Dominga married and lived in Trail until 1996 when they moved to Pass Creek. George enjoyed many activities, such as playing ball, fishing, boating, gardening, picking berries and playing the accordion. He had a passion for gathering with family & friends and making great music. The last gathering was held on October 24, 1009 where he got up on the stage

and played his accordion for the last time in front of a very supportive and enthusiastic crowd. George was diagnosed with cancer in June 2009 and passed away peacefully on the morning of November 7, with his loving wife at his side. George was predeceased by his grandparents and

by his parents Alex and Mable in 1993.

He is survived by his loving wife Dominga, daughter Michelle, son Leonard (Sara), and grandson, Jordan. He is also survived by his brothers Paul and Alex (Lena), sister Violet (Dennis) Popoff, three nieces and two nephews.
