March 10, 1925 - November 12, 2009
It is with saddened hearts that on
November 12, 2009 God called Gilberto
Soares home. He was born in Ponta Garca,
S. Miguel, Azores and immigrated to Canada in March 1957.
He worked for CP Rail for a few years and later was employed by the sawmill in Castlegar, until his retirement in
March 1990. Gilberto found great pleasure in working in his yard and garden, making sure it always looked great, and enjoyed being home with
his family.
Gilberto and Angelina took many trips
back to their native country. They had great memories of other travels that took them to the Holy Land, Brazil, Fatima, Lourdes, Rome, California, and many other places throughout Canada.
He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten by his wife of almost 56 years; his daughter Connie (Mark) Milburn; grandchildren Aaron, Kelly, Allyshia; daughter Lucie (John) Braga; grandchildren Angie and Derreck
(Ashley); and his very special great-grandsons Landyn and Kruz.
God saw your tired face and put his arms around you, But you never went alone
for part of us went with you the day
God called you home.
Greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
