With extreme sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the untimely passing of Glen Richard Wilson.
Glen leaves behind the loves of his life - his wife Melissa and daughters Marguerite and Cecilia from Columbia, South Carolina, mother Marie Wilson, sister Karen Coté (Jon Wilsgard) nephew Brandon, niece Trinda, father-in- law Joe Lewis, mother-in-law Susan Lewis, brother-in-law Trapp Lewis, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was pre-deceased by his father, Lloyd in 2000.
Glen was born in Castlegar, where he graduated from SHSS in 1984, going on to obtain his business degree from Simon Fraser University, and later his CMA while working full-time. Glen met Melissa in Vancouver and followed his Southern Belle to South Carolina where they married in 2001 and proceeded to raise their family. Glen had a long and successful career in finance, working for various firms in Canada and the USA. His work gave him the opportunity to travel internationally and to
work with some very interesting people. His real talent was in teaching and mentoring and it was the favourite part of his jobs.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the outstanding medical staff at the ICU at MUSC in Columbia, South Carolina for the wonderful care attending to Glen. Thank you to all for your messages of condolences, phone calls, flowers and food. Glen will always be remembered as a sweet, kind person, a great friend, brother, son, uncle, a wonderful husband and exceptional father. A celebration of Glen's life will be held in Castlegar at a later date.
