July 30, 1936 - April 30, 2020
With great sadness, the family of Glenna Clorinda Ehman announces her passing on April 30, 2020 at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital.
Glenna was predeceased by her husband Barry of 58 years, her parents Annie and Pete Bernava and her sister Leila Dickey.
She is survived by her son Kevin (Tracey), daughter Colleen and grandchildren; Rachel, Daniel, Matti and Jett. She is also survived by her sister Valerie Huth (Ben) of Trail, sisters-in-law Connie Spielman of Kelowna, BC and Trudy Ehman of Kelowna, BC, along with many nieces and nephews.
Glenna was born July 30, 1936 in Trail, BC. She attended J.L. Crowe High School and went on to work for Canadian Pacific Railway. It was here that she met Barry. They were married in 1961 and made Castlegar their home. She went on to work for accounting firms such as Dunwoody & Co., Frank S. Kohar and Brian L. Brown. Glenna enjoyed working in the garden along-side her husband. Her passion was playing crib and enjoyed "Rummoli Mondays" with the "Girls". She even pulled out her high school bowling shoes and played in the local woman's league for many years. She was a member of the Castlegar Seniors - which of course was all about the crib and was a long-time member of the Sisters of Colombo in Trail, BC.
She was a gentle soul with a fierce love of life. Her strength, determination and kindness will be missed by all. Keep on smiling mom!
The family would like to thank all of her dear friends and family for their support. Thank you also to Dr. Halse and all the doctors and staff at KBRH.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Andreas Schmitz of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
