Sadly the family of Grace Fillipoff of Castlegar BC (formerly of Winlaw BC) wishes to announce her passing at Castleview Care Centre on Monday, December 2, 2013. Blessed with 88 years of life, Grace was born in Thrums BC, on September 23, 1925 to parents Lucy and Louis Popoff.
She married Sam Fillipoff, and while living in Winlaw, they raised 3 children. She loved flowers and gardening and was a custodian in a local school and an avid homemaker. Grace loved travelling, she went to Costa Rica, the Panama Canal and Hawaii and she especially enjoyed going to visit her children wherever they were living.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Sam in 2002, her son Sam Jr. in 2008 and her sister Mary Padowinikoff in 2013.
Left to mourn her loss are her daughters Shirley Rach (Guy Lambert) and Noreen Willford; grandchildren Melina (Paolo) Biron, Katrina (Darren) Meurer, Ashley (Simon) Jones, Megan Willford (John Kirby) and Jason Miller; one great-grandson; brothers Eli (Alice) Popoff and Peter (Helen) Popoff and a large extended family.
Funeral Services will be held at the Appledale Community Hall on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon with interment in the Perry’s Siding Cemetery and followed by a luncheon in the Appledale Community Hall.
