Harry Chernoff

January 4, 2019

June 12, 1942 - January 4, 2019
Harry passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home.

Harry's knowledge in the housing construction industry made him a valued employee at P and G Building Supplies and Mitchell's Building Supplies. He was well-known for his talent in using various woods to design beautiful bird feeders, unique jewelry boxes and several designs of miniature vehicles - samples of his award-winning work have been seen in Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and even in the Speakers' Chair in the BC Legislative Chambers. Harry was very honoured to donate pieces to the Castlegar Golf Club and Curling Club, and especially to the local Fire Department Toy Drive.

Harry was predeceased by his father Jacob, his mother Florence, and his brothers Jack and David.

Harry will forever be missed by Verna, his wife of 49 years; and his constant companion the Princess Tiffany. He is also survived by his brother Lawrence (Jodie), sister-in-law Sophie, Aunt Molly, several nieces and nephews, and Verna's East Coast relatives.

Special thank yous to all the Interior Health agencies and especially to Dr. Smart, to Reverend Powell and the Castlegar Funeral Chapel for their support and compassion during this difficult time.

At Harry's request there will not be a funeral service. Donations, if you wish, may be made to a charity of your choice or to the Castlegar Branch of the Canadian Red Cross, 1250A - 26th Street, Castlegar, BC V1N 4C9.
