Helen Elizabeth Leveridge (Hood) aged 95, passed away on Friday July 6, 2018, in the Kelowna General Hospital, surrounded by family. She was born in Castor, Alberta, on September 26, 1922, the second youngest of 6 children.
Helen was raised on a farm outside of Edmonton and later moved to Ontario to support the war effort by working in an airplane factory. It was there she met Aubrey Leveridge, whom she later married. In 1952, they moved to the Dumont subdivision in Kinnaird.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Aubrey, parents Robert and Elizabeth Hood, her siblings Jack, Isobel, Merrick and Shirley. She is survived by her brother Jim; five children: Gary (Marcia) of Thrums, Dennis of Trail, Jean (Rob Hitchens) of Castlegar, Shelley of Asia, and Neil (Danny) of Richmond: five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held for Helen on July 16, 2018, at 10:30 am, at the New Life Church, 602 7th Street, Castlegar.
