April 1, 1932 - December 5, 2018
Fred Hoodicoff, 86, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side at Talarico Place in Castlegar, BC on December 5, 2018, two days after his 63rd wedding anniversary.

Fred was born April 1, 1932 to John and Polly Hoodicoff in Thrums, BC.

Fred worked at Cominco for 32 years. He loved to play the guitar and mandolin, and sing. He played with the Balladiers who travelled to various seniors' homes to entertain the residents.

Fred married Helen Osatchoff in 1955. They lived most of their lives in Thrums, BC and the last few years in Castlegar, BC.

Fred is survived by his loving wife Helen, his two daughters Janet Popoff of Calgary, Alberta and Debbie Ostwald of Cranbrook, BC, his son Victor Hoodicoff of Kelowna, BC; two grandchildren, Chelsey Popoff of Calgary, Alberta and Mason Ostwald of Cranbrook, BC, and one great grandchild, Mikayla Ostwald of Cranbrook, BC.

Fred was predeceased by his parents and brother Nick.

A very special thanks to all the staff at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, Poplar Ridge and Talarico Place for their excellence in caring for Fred over the past few months, as well as Dr. Vasil in Castlegar.

Thank you to the family and friends who brought food and sent flowers.

There will be no service at his request.

Fred will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Helen, daughters, son and grandchildren.
