We are very saddened to announce the passing of Irene Zibin at Castleview Care Centre in Castlegar, BC on September 3, 2020.
Irene was born on October 27, 1929 in Champion Creek, BC. She married Pete Zibin in 1956 and they made their home in Raspberry Village, BC. Irene lived in that home for 53 years before moving to Castle Wood Village in 2017.
Irene loved spending time with family and friends, and also enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. She was kind, thoughtful and welcomed everyone with a smile on her face.
Irene is survived by her daughter Kathy Musgreave (Neil) of Castlegar, son Jim (Christine) of Vancouver, son Dan of Vancouver, sister Anne Planedin (Mike) of Calgary and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father John Postnikoff in 1951, her sister Vera Makortoff in 1973, her mother Maria Postnikoff in 1975, her husband Pete in 1994 and her brother John Postnikoff in 2002.
The family would like to thank Dr. Vasil, Dr. Merritt and the exceptional staff at Castleview Care Centre. Thanks also to Bill Strilaeff and the staff of the Castlegar Funeral Chapel.
A private service was held on September 11, 2020, followed by burial at the Brilliant Cemetery.
