In loving memory ~
Ivan (Ivo) Stanesic passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on June 29, 2025 in Trail.
Left behind to mourn him is his beloved family - wife Kathy, son Stepan, daughter-in-law Jacy, grandson Landen, brother-in-law Jack Rilkoff, sister-in-law Karen Rilkoff, nephew Douglas Rilkoff, and nieces Sanja Brlas and Vesna Vojinovic in addition to many other relatives and wonderful friends all around the world.
Ivo was born on April 1, 1950, in Busetina, Croatia. He began working at a young age and did any job that came his way, from horse training and working in a bakery to delivering liquor to restaurants. He completed his mandatory military term and then went to work near Mannheim, Germany, for an electrical company installing underground power lines. He then had an opportunity to move to Canada. Ivo embraced living here and worked a variety of jobs until he finally concentrated on various construction positions. He and Kathy married on January 1, 1990, and they had a long and happy life together. They lived in Ootischenia for nearly forty years, then moved to Stellar Place in 2020.
Many know Ivo from either the jobsite, fishing or later in his life at the casino.
Ivo was an honest, kind, loving, hard-working man. If you became his friend, it was for life.
