Sadly the family of James (Jim) Hamilton, of Castlegar, wishes to announce his passing at Talarico Place Care Centre on January 1, 2015

blessed with 72 years of life.

Jim was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 28, 1942 to parents Florence and Wankie Hamilton. He was raised and went to school in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. In 1960, he graduated from Weyburn Collegiate and then went to welding school and also acquired a private pilot’s licence.

In 1994, Jim moved to Armstrong, BC where he drove and owned trucks for the majority of his life.

He met the love of his life and his soulmate, April Dawn Stagg and they moved to the Kootenays. They both worked in Castlegar and spent their leisure time camping, fishing and making numerous trips to Hawaii and Mexico. Fishing and hunting were Jim’s main hobbies.

Jim leaves to mourn his loss his wife April Stagg, of Castlegar, BC; his sons Terry (Cindee) and Tyler of Vernon, BC; his daughters Shelley Hamilton (Sean) of Vernon, BC and Sheila Hamilton of Armstrong, BC; 4 grandchildren Mitchell, Emiley, Issac and Jake; his sister Kathing (Brian) Cutting of Salmon Arm, BC and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were in care of Castlegar Funeral Chapel.

I would like to thank my very special friend/sister Cheryl Dahl. Also, a special thank you to Karen Bredt for helping Jim and myself during this hard time and as well as Colette Pankoff for being there for Jim and I and

helping me stay strong.
