James Sutherland Beattie
Jim was born in Windy Gates, Fife, Scotland on February 25, 1931. He passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11th, 2019 at KBH with his family by his side. He was blessed with 88 years of life.
March of 1957, Jim married Betty Simpson, together they emigrated to Canada where they raised four children. Jim was a Qualified Mining Surveyor and worked on several construction projects in Ontario, Quebec, and B.C. In the summer of 1973, Jim and his family moved to Castlegar to work at the Kootenay Canal Project. After he retired he began his own Construction Surveys business.
He loved sports, particularly swimming and ballroom dancing with Betty!
He is predeceased by his eldest son Russell. Left to mourn is his wife Betty of 62 years, daughter Roslyn (Jim), his sons Kelvin (Michel), Angus (Colleen). Grandchildren; Christopher, Heather, Daina, Kolby, Shayla. Great Grandchildren; Jasmine, Rory and Riley.
Cremation has taken place, and there will be no service at Jim's request. Celebration of Life will be held by family in the Summer of 2020.
To the Medical Professionals (the Doctors, Nurses, Medics and Therapists) and the help from Dr. Ankenbauer, we thank you for all your caring assistance during Jim's stay at KBH. Thank you to the staff at the Trail Funeral for their respectful help during our loss. Rest in Peace.
