Jean Alton

December 17, 2009

Born on a homestead in Burgis,Saskatchewan in the summer of 1921, Jean Alton passed away peacefully in the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital on December17,2009.

Jean is survived by her brother Paul, her sisters Gladys and Lillian, and her two sons, Jimmy(Teri Pater)and Terry(Tonnie Stewart).

Coming from the prairies, Jean fell in love with the mountains of B.C. She especially enjoyed arranging family camping trips, and picking wild asparagus, mushrooms and huckleberries. Music was also a big part of Jean's life. As one of Warfield's cool "band moms," Jean delighted in hosting years of rowdy band prectices in her basement as Jimmy and later Terry, rattled the windows of Thackeray Street. She went to many rock concerts in Vancouver and Spokane, and often bragged of having seen Tina Turner four times!

After the boys left home to pursue their business careers,Jean began her many travels. She frequently visited her sons in California, Ohio, Georgia, Florida and Arizona as they moved around the USA. She also toured several European countries before going to Japan,Thailand and China, where she prouldy walked the Great Wall-the highlight of her adventurous life.

Jim and Terry held a small private ceremony to celebrate Jean's many journeys and their wonderful times together. Heartfelt thanks to family and friends, including the staff of Castlewood Village, for your devotion, love and support.
