John passed away peacefully on October 23, 2009 at Mountain Lakes in Nelson, BC, with his daughter at his side.
During his final hours, John was serenaded with music from his favorite
singer Earnest Tubbs.
He was predeceased by his siblings Peter, Nick and Mabel. John is survived
by his seven children: Brian, Dale, Zoria, Pam, Nena, Alanna, and Tammy; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
John was born on September 3, 1927 in
Kamsack, SK. He worked at Kootenay
Forest Products, pruned trees in many Okanagan Orchards, and was also employed as a sheet metal worker. John retired late in life, which gave him free time to pursue his love of making
guitars. Music was always an important part of John’s life. He will be remembered for his singing and playing his handmade guitars.
The family would like to thank Mountain Lakes Senior Community, especially the staff from Cottage “F” for their love and care of Dad. Funeral Services will be held at the Castlegar Funeral Chapel
