May 22, 1951 - March 9, 2019
On March 9, 2019 we lost one of the most beloved men the town of Castlegar has ever known, John "Allen" Carl Henne. Allen as everyone knew him passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side.
He was born on May 22, 1951 to Carl and Margaret Henne in Trail BC. Allen was the oldest of five children and as a child enjoyed family time at the cabin at Christina Lake.
For most of his life Allen was self-employed owning Castle Tire and a small construction company.
One of Allen's favorite activities was to go to the pool with Travis and Sullivan and splash around. A saying that Allen lived by was "Mind over Matter, if you don't mind it doesn't matter".
Allen leaves behind his wife of 49 years Nadine, son Travis (Shannon) grandson Sullivan, and daughter Alana (Jordan).
Allen did not want a funeral but insisted that his family have a party to celebrate his life. The party will be on May 18, 2019 at the family home. His presence will be forever missed by all that knew him.
The family would like to thank all the friends and family that have given food, flowers and love during these difficult times. Also, a sincere thanks to all the medical staff that helped Allen during his courageous battle with Cancer.
