Much can be said about John's 88 years, from leaving San Lorenzo, Italy at the age of 4 1/2 with his Mother, Marianna D'Andrea, their journey to Trail to be with his Father, Andrea D'Andrea, his life in Trail, the move to the farm and life up the North Fork (north of Grand Forks), his work in Nakusp and his final move to Castlegar to work at the Pulp Mill.
Born into a large Italian family, John's life was surrounded with closeness and love from his Father and Mother (deceased), his two sister's, Laura Lodder of Grand Forks and Emely Pasqualotto of Trail and their families .Six nieces and nephews adored their Uncle who doted on them like they were his own; cousins and his close friends families affectionately knew him as Uncle John.
In 1981, John met the love of his life, Susan, and although hunting, photography and gardening were his activities, he now also enjoyed a married life of hiking/camping, travelling, sailing, quading, RVing, fishing, and most of all,his cabin built in the woods which was now shared by the two of them. As an avid outdoorsman, John felt strongly about preserving the mandates
of the Castlegar Wildlife Association and he therefore remained a member for years.
John's humour, jokes and hunting stories will be his legacy (Uncle John's jokes) along with his passion for reading which meant sharing with everyone who would listen, the endless knowledge he had learned.
Goodbye John, you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you.
