John Mike Tomilin

With sad hearts the family of John Mike

Tomilin announces his sudden passing at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, blessed

with 88 years of life.

John was born in Ootischenia on

December 8, 1921, to parents Annie and

Mike Tomilin. He married Doris Konkin on

January 20, 1946 and together they raised 4 children. During his life, John worked on the construction of local dams, but mainly he was employed in the logging industry. In his younger years he belonged to the USCC Men’s Choir. John also loved to work on large word

search or find.

John was loved by all and had many friends.

His “great sense of humour” will be missed.

He was predeceased by his brother Mike and his grandson Colin Paul.

Left to mourn his loss are his loving wife of 64 years, Doris, daughters Eileen (Ken) Paul and Dorothy (Sid) Flebbe, sons Cliff Tomilin and Jack (Shelly) Tomilin, many grandchildren,

extended family and his many friends.

Funeral services were held at Castlegar Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 12, 2010 with Mike Kanigan leading the service and interment followed at Park Memorial Cemetery.
