John Maloff was born on March 12, 1928 in Thrums, B.C. to Pete and Lucy Maloff. He and his twin sister Luba were the third and fourth of six children. John Passed away April 1, 2019 at the age of 91.
In 1949 John met Ann Fedosoff and together they raised four children-Bill, Jane, Nina, and John Jr.. John and Ann were blessed with six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
John was an expert fruit tree pruner and when he retired from construction he moved to Creston and spent over twenty years there working in various orchards. In retirement John moved back to his sister Luba's and he had been taking care of the garden and greenhouse right up to this year. John loved nothing better than to grow and give some wonderful vegetables for his family.
He is survived by son William (Giselle), daughters Jane (Alex Josafatow), and Nina, his grandchildren Monique, Rya, Alexei, Delaney, Jesse, and Alisha and great grandchildren Mariah, Misha, Hayley, Mya, Asheni, Adisyn. Nicholas,Tayva, Emree, Mileena,Teisha, and Dayan.
John was pre-deceased by his wife Ann and his son Johnny, as well as his brothers Pete and Walter.
Burial took place April 5th at the Krestova Cemetry followed by a family gathering at Lubas house. He will be forever missed. Rest in peace.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the home support staff who came regularly to check in on John and the staff at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital who cared for John the last few days of his life.
