It is with heavy hearts that the Streloff family announces the passing of Joseph (Joe) Cyril Streloff on October 29, 2016, at 77 years of age.
Joe was a devoted and much loved husband, father, grampa, great-grampa, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed a full and rewarding life, with his family at the heart of all that he did and all that he was. Joe was also a very proud member of the Freemasons, Sentinel Lodge #146.
Joe was well known in the community as
the owner of Kootenay Klothes Kloset/JJ’s
Fashions. Many have fond memories of stopping into the store to shoot the breeze with Joe. He was charming and engaging, with the gift of gab and an amazing sense of humour!
Joe took great pride in “dressing Castlegar” and having had the pleasure of suiting up multiple generations of families for graduations and weddings. In recent years, Joe was thrilled to see his two sons come together to carry on the family business, founded by he and Ruby in 1973. He was so very proud of his boys.
Joe leaves behind his beloved wife of 52 years, Ruby; sons David (Lesley) and Mark (Melanie); grandchildren Rhylan (Katelyn), Shelby, Kyla, Kira; great-granddaughter Olivia; sister Terri, brother John; and several nieces and nephews.
We will celebrate Joe’s life at an open
house at Little Bear Golf Course on Saturday, November 12th, from 2:00-4:00 pm. Please feel free to bring your fond memories and funny stories to share, in celebration and remembrance of a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that
donations be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.

passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign
of weakness, nor a lack of faith – it is
the price of love.”
