February 16, 1981 - August 22, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Justen "Joe" Brighton on August 22, 2020. Justen was born on February 16, 1981 in Grand Forks, BC. Justen grew up in the Kootenays, living and playing in the lakes, trees and forests, which he so loved.
Justen is survived by his three children; Isaiah, Coal and Grayer, and their mother, Kristin. He is also survived by his many parents; Rachel and John, Heather and Lance, Tena, Terry and Janet, and Jim, as well as his siblings; Darren, Todd, Warren, Chadd, Eli, Kayle and Tanner. Justen was predeceased by his grandmother Edna and his mother Michelle.
Throughout his life, Justen also relocated to Victoria, Lillooet and Edmonton, before returning to his home community of Castlegar. Over the years, Justen enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking and being outdoors in nature. He also obtained his Red Seal Mobile Crane Operator ticket in 2013, an accomplishment his family was incredibly proud of. Justen will always be remembered for his infectious smile and laugh, his bear hugs, his love of animals and his ability to befriend anyone.
He is so greatly missed here on Earth. Fly high Justen.
Special thanks and gratitude to Andreas from Castlegar Funeral Chapel for your support and compassion during this difficult time.
