Katherine (Katie) Salikin, a long time resident of Krestova passed away peacefully at KLDH in Nelson on October 19, 2010 with family by her side. Katie was born May 17, 1946 in Nelson, BC.
Katie loved gardening and was an excellent cook. She was a member of the Crescent Valley Cooking Group and the Crescent Valley Hall. Her family was her life and she always put them first. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Peter, two sons; Perry and Paul, three grandchildren; Eric, Bradley and Rodney, two sisters; Vera (Bill) Jmaeff and Doris Chernoff and many nephews and nieces. Katie was predeceased by her parents Paul and Annie Soobotin.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Crescent Valley Hall with burial on Friday, October 22, 2010 at Krestova Cemetery. Castlegar Funeral Chapel was in care of arrangements.
The family would like to thank the staff on the 3rd floor of the KLDH for all their support and care.
Katie will be sadly missed but will remain lovingly in our hearts forever.
