1938-2020 ~ Katherine was a loving a mother, baba and a devout USCC Doukhobour, participating in choirs and singing groups all her life. She was a beautiful painter, loved flowers and travelled to many places in the world where she enjoyed experiencing different cultures.
Most of all, she loved people and could make a friend no matter where she went.
Katherine is survived by her sister, Nellie Gorkoff, her four children: Joe Kalmakoff, Maureen Welton, Bob Kalmakoff and his wife Barbie, Leeza Zurwick and her husband Robin, nine grandchildren: Bill, Nick, Laura, Rebecca, Marissa, Jenna and Ben Kalmakoff, Blake and Jacob Zurwick and her partner, Pete Negrave of Calgary and his children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bill Kalmakoff in 1982 and infant grandson, Mathew Kalmakoff in 1990.
A private family service was held on Dec. 8, with burial at Shoreacres cemetery.
