It is with sadness that we announce that Ken N. Plotnikoff passed away peacefully at home in Balfour on April 8, 2016.


Ken was born in Nelson on April 8, 1956 to Mary (née Salekin) and Nikolas A. Plotnikoff. He was raised in Pass Creek, graduated from Stanley Humphries Secondary and completed his training as a registered massage therapist in Toronto. Upon returning to British Columbia, he lived in several different areas of the West Kootenay. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, the fresh mountin air and trips to Ainsworth Hot Springs.


He is survived by his son, Brandon with his mother, Nicol Barisenkoff of Penticton, his sisters Elizabeth (Fred) Legebokoff of Castlegar, Pearl (Mike) Barisoff of Genelle, his brother Nick (Wendy) Plotnikoff of Castlegar, many nieces and nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Harry (Winnie) Plotnikoff.


The immediate family will hold a celebration of his life in May. Thank you to all for your messages of condolence. A special thank you to Megan at Thompson Funeral Home for her assistance with the arrangements.
