It is with devastated hearts that we announce the sudden peaceful passing of Kevin Plotnikoff. In the early morning hours of September 27th 2023, while he slept. He was 43 years old, born on October 10th, 1979.
Kevin was a carpenter by trade. Working with many local Kootenay contractors. Kevin was most proud of building the Golden Life Retirement Homes in the Kootenays & Alberta for Pacesetter Construction.
He loved the outdoors. Enjoyed quadding, snowmobiling, swimming, fishing, or simply just sitting around a campfire in the evening.
Kevin loved to cook. He especially loved making borscht. He was so looking forward to entering the Doukhobor borscht cook off this year, that golden cabbage was in his sights.
This year Kevin enjoyed having a vegetable garden & raising chickens with his partner Sherri. He built the chickens a beautiful coop & courtyard to live in & even named each bird. This brought him much joy and peace in his life.
Kevin had a giving heart. He was always there, ready to lend a hand or just give you a big hug.
He was a partner to Sherri Dermody. A son to parents Bill & Gail, a brother to Kelly (Duncan) Morrison, and Justin (Carolee) Plotnikoff, an uncle to Brandon (Maya) Morrison, Kassie (Cody) Kabatoff, Colby Morrison, a great uncle to Jace Kabatoff, & nephew to numerous aunts & uncles & many cousins.
Kevin was predeceased by his grandparents John/Mary Plotnikoff, Mike/Lucy Lebedow & aunt & uncle Laura/Paul Strelaeff.
Laid to rest on October 12th, at the Ootischenia Cemetery.
