It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Koozma Joe Pereverzoff. Koozma passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013 with his family by his side, in Pass Creek, at the age of 89.


Koozma was born in Pass Creek, BC, on May 17, 1924 to parents Nick and Annie Pereverzoff. He married the love of his life Annie Sofonoff on December 23, 1950 in Champion Creek and resided in Pass Creek where they raised 4 children. Koozma retired from the sawmill industry after 29 years of service as a sawmill labourer. He was a member of the Union of Spiritual Communities of Christ (USCC) and truly enjoyed singing and being part of the Kootenay Psalmists. He was also an active member of the Pass Creek community choir group. Koozma enjoyed gardening, farming and spending time with his grandchildren.


He was predeceased by his parents Nick and Annie, brothers Nick, George, Fred, Alec and Cecil.


Left to mourn his loss is his loving wife of 62 years Annie, son Serg (Eunice), son Christopher (Celine), son Walter, son Dan (Therese) and grandchildren Julie, Jodie, Nathan, Brenden, Chadd and Chloe.


Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Castlegar Funeral Chapel, and a traditional Doukhobour service was held at Brilliant Cultural Centre on Thursday, May 30, 2013 followed by interment in Pass Creek Cemetery.
