Koozma K. Poohachoff was born September 11, 1945 in Nelson BC and died October 19, 2010, in Trail BC.


He is survived by his wife, Verna; his daughter, Stacey Phillips, son-in-law Kevin Phillips: grandchildren, Olivia, Sydney and Davis Nelson, Victoria, Ashley, Matthew and Andrew Phillips; Mother, Annie Poochachoff and his brothers, Jack, Steve and Phillip Poochachoff.


Koozma was predeceased by his son, Brett; father, Koozma Sr. and his brother Paul.


He was employed as a pipe fitter at Celgar Pulp for 45 years until he retired on September 11, 2010. He was an active member of the Slocan Valley Community, the Slocan Valley Hall Society and was instrumental in the development of the Slocan Valley Co-Op. He was an active member in the Pulp, Paper and Woodworkers of Canada Local #1. Koozma was also involved as a Scout Leader with the South Slocan branch of the Cub Scouts and served on many various community committees.


A service will be held Friday, October 29, 2010 at 7 pm at the Brilliant Cultural Center at 1816 Brilliant Road, Castlegar BC.


An an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Brilliant Cultural Center.
